Social media giant Facebook has finally launched its Find Wi-Fi feature globally. Now, this feature is available for both iOS and Android platforms. Find Wi-Fi feature is getting in via new updates of the Facebook app. This information has been provided by Facebook’s blog. Let me inform you that this feature was being tested in select countries since last year.
How to use ‘Find Wi-Fi’ feature
First, make sure that you have updated your Facebook app. Now open the app and click on the three lines given in the right site. Now you will see the Find Wi-Fi option along with your profile as well. The list of free Wi-Fi nearby will be available to you as soon as you click on it. However, for this, you have to keep Wi-Fi active on your smartphone.
According to Facebook Blog
Facebook’s Director of Engineering Alex Himel wrote in his blog post, “We are ready to expand our feature ‘Find Wi-Fi’ to iOS and Android users all over the world. We started it in a few select countries last year. ”
He further wrote, “With the launch last year we found that this feature is not only beneficial for people traveling but is especially useful in areas where mobile network is not good.”
According to Alex Hime, “This feature is helpful to users in identifying nearby Wi-Fi hotspots, which can be shared by different business groups through their Facebook page. So wherever you are, if your mobile data network is not good, then you can find close data connections. ”
As a Technogot, we have found this feature interesting/less usable content. Will you use Facebook to find WiFi hotspots on the road or traveling or going on & on?
