On Saturday midnight, Narendra Modi Government has implemented Goods and Services Tax (GST) across the country. It is being said to be the biggest tax reform of Independence India. Though the GST has implemented, many Smartphones have become expensive, so many Smartphones have become cheaper.
Modi Government has imposed 10% Basic Customs Duty (BCD) on mobile phones, mobile phone parts, and some electronic goods, after which it would be costly to get items which are being imported from the outside of India.
The electronic items on which the basic customs duty will be applied include smartphones, headphones, phone chargers, batteries, keypads, microphones.
Also, customs duty will be levied on USB cable and other electronic products.
There will be no tax on other parts of the mobile such as printed circuit boards, cover glass, camera modules, connectors display, touch panel, and vibrator.
Smartphone of these brands will be cheaper
The government has imposed 10 per cent basic customs duty on mobile phones and phone parts from abroad, after which the smartphones being imported from other countries will become expensive.
In other words, the government has given great relief to Moble Manufacturers Apple, Xiaomi, Nokia, Motorola, Lenovo and home mobile companies such as Intex, Lava, Micromax, by implementing GST in India.
After GST, foreign companies such as Samsung, LG, Oppo, Vivo, Gionee, HTC will be forced to set up their manufacturing plants in India. So long as the manufacturing plants of these companies are not started in India, their phones will be expensive to sell.
